Texas Government Code
Effective from Sep 1, 2023 Amends Sections 406.013, 406.014 and 406.024 of the Texas Government Code specifies the maximum fees for an official act performed by a notary public
Protesting a bill for non-acceptance or non-payment, register and seal
Each notice of protest
Protesting in all other cases
Administering an oath or affirmation with certificate and seal
Certificates under seal not otherwise provided for
Oath, certificate, seal and other business connected with the deposition
Performing any other lawful notarial act
Taking the acknowledgment
proof of any deed or other instrument in writing, for registration, including certificate and seal:
(1) for the first signature
(2) for each additional signature
Taking the depositions of witnesses, for each 100 words
Copies of all records and papers in the Notary Public’s office, for each pa
Mobile/Travel Fees/ Extra
$25 & UP(within 1-25mile radius) Example: if traveling within 5-mile radius, notarization charge for one document and one person will be $35, (i.e. $10 notarial act for one person, one document + $25 traveling fee).
Online Platform Convenience Flat Fee $25
Example: if an online notary notarizes the signature of one person, one document the charge will be $31; (i.e. $6 notarial act for one person, one document + $25 online fee).
Express Mobile Service (09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.) – $25.00
Express Mobile Service is a discounted travel charge during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) to meet you within 10miles, for 0 – 30 minutes of service. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees
Late Evening(6:00pm- 8:00pm), Same Day Appointments, Weekends, and Holidays
Surcharge: Extended Appointment Time (each additional 15-minute increment)
Appointments for Express/Standard Mobile Service are scheduled for 0 – 30 minutes (unless otherwise noted in the estimate or invoice). Appointments extending beyond the scheduled time will incur a $15.00 surcharge, applied at the beginning of each additional 15-minute increment. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees
Mileage Surcharge (1 miles- 10Miles) per mile – one way $2.00
Mileage Surcharge (>10 miles) per mile – one way $2.00
A mileage surcharge is applied when a customer-Charged at $2.00 per mile (one way). and anything above 20miles will be $3.00/mile
This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
